Personal data and cookies
- This website sets no cookies and shows no ads.
- Traffic is measured with GoatCounter, a cookie-free analytics tool that does not track visitors across websites: only aggregate figures are kept (page views, referring site, browser, country, clicks on Download). No data is sold.
- Fonts are hosted on the website itself: no request is sent to Google or any other third party.
- Like any host, GitHub may record visitors' IP addresses in its technical logs, including when the installer is downloaded. See the GitHub privacy statement.
- If you write to the contact address, your message and e-mail address are used only to reply to you.
The Vty software
- Vty runs entirely on your computer: it sends no data to the publisher, saves no password, and the license key is checked without an Internet connection.
- At startup, at most once a day, Vty reads the public file getvty.com/version.json to find out whether a new version exists. This request contains no data (no device, no license); it can be turned off in the License window. Nothing is downloaded or installed automatically.
- Optional and off by default: the known vulnerability lookup queries the Cisco security API (PSIRT openVuln) with the IOS version of your devices, using your own Cisco credentials.
